Use Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift and RHEL compute nodes that run VM-based workloads.

OpenStack Administration: Control Plane Management (CL170) helps Red Hat OpenStack cluster administrators manage the health and performance of control plane services, troubleshoot issues by inspecting Kubernetes operators and workloads, and configure control plane services using Kubernetes custom resources. The course is based on Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift 18.

Course Topics

Assessing the health of OpenStack operators and workloads; identifying disabled or misconfigured services
Collecting troubleshooting information from control and data planes for support requests
Enabling and customizing control plane services via custom resource configuration
Evaluating compute node health and identifying missing or misconfigured data plane services
Removing, replacing, or reprovisioning failed compute nodes

Target Audience

Platform Engineers, Cloud Administrators, and System Administrators focused on managing, tuning, and troubleshooting Red Hat OpenStack clusters.

Prerequisites for this course

Completion of Red Hat System Administration I (RH124) is recommended
Red Hat System Administration II (RH134) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible (RH294) recommended but not required
Red Hat OpenShift Administration I (DO180) or equivalent skills
Basic data center storage concepts (protocols, NAS, SAN)
Data center networking knowledge (OSI model, VLANs, firewalls, ICMP, IP, HTTP)
Object storage familiarity and Ceph administration skills are helpful but optional
